How to Make Fluffy Pancakes with no milk or butter
When we think about making pancakes, the first ingredients that come to our mind are egg, milk, and butter. However, there are going to be times when you may not have either one or any of these ingredients. Besides, you might be a vegetarian and avoid eating dairy products like milk and butter. But these obstacles will not prevent you from making delicious and fluffy pancakes. Yes, it is possible to make a fluffy pancake without egg, milk, and butter, and we have explained the recipe below.
To make a pure veg pancake without dairy products, you will need the following ingredients.
Cooking Utensils Required
The most important ingredient for your pancakes to be as good as regular pancakes is baking powder. Make sure it is fresh for the pancakes to be fluffy.
Give time for the batter to rest for some time before cooking. This gives the baking powder time to work its way deep into the batter.
Keep the pancakes warm after cooking them to retain their taste and flavour. They will deflate if not eaten immediately. If that is not possible, keep them warm to make them irresistible.
Steps To Make Fluffy Pancakes
Step 1– Mix Dry Ingredients
Take the mixing bowl and add all the dry ingredients one by one. This means you need to add flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar.
Take the whisk and mix all the dry ingredients together in the bowl. Make sure they are all well mixed before the next step.
Step 2 – Make The Batter
It is time to add wet ingredients, and this includes coconut oil and water. Be careful while adding water and you should add as much as you need while whisking the batter. You can add maple sugar if available. Whish thoroughly and keep doing until the batter is smooth.
Step 3 – Heat The Pan
You should give time for the batter to rest for at least 10 minutes. In the meantime, you can heat up the pan or skillet. It should be on medium-high heat.
Step 4 – Fry The Pancake
Add a tablespoon of oil to the pan and move the pan such that the oil covers the entire pan. This will help the batter no to stick to the dry pan, and you can lift it easily.
Add 2 tablespoons of the batter to the pan and with the spoon, make sure you spread the batter in a round shape. Make sure that the batter thickness is roughly equal throughout the pan.
Let it get heated up until you see tiny bubbles on the surface of the pancake and edges becoming dry and slightly hard.
Step 5 – Flip and Fry
Take the spatula and flip the semi-cooked pancake steadily so that it does not break its shape. After flipping, let it get heated up for 2 to 3 minutes.
If you observe the pan becoming dry while flipping, you should add some oil so that the other side does not burn or stay too dry.
The pancake is done when you observe the pancake becoming fluffy. You can serve it immediately or keep it warm by keeping it inside an oven.
This is just making one pancake, and you should repeat the process from step 4 to 5 for making multiple pancakes. You can add sugar, salt, or any other ingredients if you find that the first pancake is missing something. That is how you can serve pure veg pancakes with sauce and salads to enhance the taste.
